How Does the MAPFRE CAR EZ® Program Work?

Consumers whose cars have been damaged in an accident covered by auto insurance have the right to have their vehicles repaired by the licensed repair shop of their choice. It’s important to know, however, that a repair shop may at times charge more for repairs than your auto insurance policy will cover. In such cases, the shop may bill you directly for the amount that exceeds the insurance payment.

MAPFRE’s CAR EZ® Program
If you need to file an auto claim due to an accident, taking advantage of MAPFRE’s CAR EZ® Program will help you to avoid such balance billing.

With CAR EZ, MAPFRE Insurance works with preferred auto body repair shops to reach an agreed cost of repair. When you participate in the program, you will not only be assured that your repair will be managed by the shop and a dedicated MAPFRE licensed appraiser but that your repair will be completed for an agreed amount, inclusive of the labor rate.  Keep in mind, however, that a deductible may apply depending on the nature of the accident and the coverage purchased. In addition, the quality of your repair is guaranteed for as long as you own the vehicle.

Other benefits include:

  • Contact within 24 hours
  • Arrangement of vehicle picked up
  • Coordination of a rental car, if applicable
  • A thorough cleaning of your vehicle prior to its return it to you
  • Exemplary customer service throughout the entire repair process

Unfortunately, if you choose an out of network shop, MAPFRE cannot guarantee the quality of the repairs or that the shop will perform the repairs for the amount stated on the appraisal. In addition to any applicable deductible, the shop may bill you directly for repair charges that exceed the cost covered by your insurance policy.

Still not sure about the repair process? Talk to an independent agent for more details on CAR EZ. If you’re not insured with us yet, you can get a quote from an independent agent in your state or if you live in Massachusetts you can get a fast, free car insurance quote today to see how much you could save!
