Steps to an Auto Damage Claim

Often, the appraisal option is chosen when a claim is first reported. These options include:

  • CAR EZ – Your simple start-to-finish, guaranteed appraisal/repair program.
  • ePICS – Take and submit your own photos of your auto damage.
  • Field Assignment – A licensed appraiser will be sent to inspect your vehicle.

You select a registered repair shop. The options available with any type of appraisal include:

  • CAR EZ – Our highest rated priority-scheduled repair program. MAPFRE guarantees work quality for life of ownership. Search for a shop near you.
  • Preferred Shop – The repair shop accepts appraisal amount and guarantees the repairs.
  • All Other Shops – You have the choice of any registered repair shop.

If you purchased substitute transportation coverage, we can authorize your reservation with Hertz or Enterprise.

  • CAR EZ – Rental arrangements are taken care of for you.
  • Direct Billing and Payment with Hertz and Enterprise.
  • Rental vehicle delivery options are available.
  • Covered rental days are subject to authorization and policy limits.
  • No coverage under policy? Affordable rates via Hertz for MAPFRE customers. Speak with your claim professional.

Once your vehicle has been repaired:

  • CAR EZ – Expert repairs are paid directly to the shop and guaranteed by MAPFRE for life of ownership.
  • If your repair was completed outside of the CAR EZ network, a signed Direction to Pay will allow MAPFRE to pay them directly. Your shop will supply you with the form.
  • In either situation, if your deductible applies, you will pay those funds to the repair shop.
