We are the official auto insurer of the Pan-Mass Challenge
Community. That’s the Mapfre feeling.
At Mapfre Insurance, our mission is to make a lasting, positive impact on the world and the communities we serve. As the Official Auto Insurer of the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) and the official sponsor of the PMC Wellesley hub site, we are honored to support an organization that leads the nation in fundraising for cancer research through athletic events.
About the Pan-Mass Challenge
The Pan-Mass Challenge is a bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. All proceeds benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Founded in 1980 by Billy Starr, who continues to lead the event as executive director, annual cyclist, and fundraiser, the PMC pioneered the $4 billion athletic fundraising industry.
The PMC donates 100% of every rider-raised dollar directly to Dana-Farber and is the institute’s largest single contributor, accounting for more than 67% of The Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue.
100% of every rider-raised dollar goes to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
PMC is the Jimmy Fund’s largest single contributor, raising more money for charity than any other single fundraising event in the U.S.
$1.125 billion has been donated to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since its launch in 1980.
Support Team Mapfre
Most of us have a family member, friend, or loved one who has been affected by cancer. For more than 10 years, in addition to being the PMC’s Official Auto Insurance Partner, Team Mapfre has proudly volunteered and ridden in the Pan-Mass Challenge. Our involvement includes employees, family members, and friends who volunteer at the Wellesley Hub and other PMC water stops, as well as a dedicated team of riders working hard to raise critical funds for cancer research. One of our own employees, Amanda Suss, is a cancer survivor who courageously rode in her first PMC in 2025. Watch her “Why I PMC” story to learn more about her inspiring journey.

Existing Mapfre customers who have donated $50 or more or are current PMC riders may qualify for a discount, too.
